Access for All
Chromebook & Hotspot Borrowing
Our world has become increasingly dependent on internet. A lot of documents and tasks can be completed on your smart device, but sometimes you really just need a laptop!
With your library card you can check out a chromebook for at-home use! Need internet? We have hotspots available for checkout as well. This program is intended to help bridge the access gap for those who do not have sufficient access to Internet at home. It is not intended for recreational use.
- Two week check out period
- One renewal
Common Websites that are Blocked
All Social Media, Gaming and Entertainment Sites are Filtered Out to comply with Kajeet’s CIPA and Fair Use Policy. The following is a list of common websites that you will not be able to access using the Kajeet Hotspots you check-out: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Yahoo, Netflix, Reddit, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Twitch, QQ, eBay, DuckDuckGo, Walmart, TikTok, Fandom.
While many of our local residents have access to the internet through smart devices, there are just some activities that really are easier to do on a full-sized computer:
✅ Filing Taxes
✅ Filing Government Forms
✅ Creating flyers/marketing materials for a personal business
✅ Accessing Learning Express Library (GED, ACT, SAT, GACE test prep & more!!!)
✅ Typing a document
The equipment and services funded by the federal Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) can only be provided to patrons who declare they do not have access to the equipment or services sufficient to access the internet.
Be prepared to fill out a separate form, and make sure you have your library card ready!
